Most ideas will not work. Albert Einstein produced more than three hundred scientific papers in his lifetime and only a small fraction of them turned out to be breakthroughs. Since we are not as smart as the genius, our ideas will be less likely to work than Einstein's. It is not enough to make a good proposal. For example, the golden rule was stated over a thousand years ago: Treat others as you would like to be treated. If everyone followed this rule, the world would be a better place. There is no shortage of good proposals. It is the practical plans that are rare. Reasoning is not an effective way of persuasion. Proving to a drinker or smoker that their life would get better by showing evidence will not make them stop. Presenting a successful model will be convincing. Sometimes we need the help of like-minded people to test our proposal on a small scale and then prove it to others. Following human nature usually works. For example, our curiosity is a natural urge to learn and discover. If the internet can provide its users with quality content, human nature will soon lead to a great improvement in our brainpower.

What is the state of Climate Action in the run up to COP27?
Different stakeholders are discussing the current gaps in climate action as visibility is high for this topic right before the COP.
Two reports can be highlighted: 1) The new @WorldResources report examines this question in its latest report. It provides a comprehensive assessment of the gap in climate action by highlighting where recent progress must accelerate over the next decade. 2) @UNEP published its annual Emissions Gap Report 2022 where it states that current policies are not in line with the commitments under the Paris Agreement.
