OECD Net Zero+: Climate and Economic Resilience in a Changing World | Launch event

16 MAY 2023

The launch event of Net Zero+: Climate and Economic Resilience in a Changing World, the synthesis report of the flagship OECD Horizontal Project on Climate and Economic Resilience, will take place from 14:30-16:00 CEST on Tuesday 16 May.

This synthesis report draws on the full breadth of the OECD’s multidisciplinary expertise to present resilience as the backbone of effective, whole-of-government climate policy making. Net Zero+ is about how we reach net zero in a rapidly changing world – it is about making sure climate policies are resilient and adapted in a world of overlapping disruptions, including the impacts of climate change itself, as well as also socio-economic implications and considerations of fairness and equity. The report provides governments with recommendations spanning multiple policy domains for ensuring a resilient transition to net-zero emissions and building resilience to climate impacts.

The launch event (in English, with French interpretation) will consist of a keynote address by OECD Secretary-General Mathias Cormann, after which OECD Environment Director, Jo Tyndall will give an overview presentation of the report. This will be followed by a high-level panel discussion on the themes of the report. Panellists include Natacha Alexander, Ambassador of the United Kingdom to the OECD; Dominic Waughray, Executive Vice President, World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD); Sébastien Treyer, Executive Director, Institut du Développement Durable et des Relations Internationales; and Andy Kerr, CSO, Climate-KIC.
