On 14 December 2023 (14:00-15:00 CET), the Green Growth Knowledge Partnership (GGKP) and Donor Committee for Enterprise Development (DCED)  jointly hosted the "Beyond COP28 - Advancing Biodiversity Finance for Global Climate Impact" webinar.  

Building on the outcomes of COP28 discussions, the webinar highlighted the importance of biodiversity finance in achieving essential advancements to stop and reverse the loss of biodiversity and ecosystem services. Supporting conservation and sustainable land management through funding plays a pivotal role in safeguarding crucial biodiversity hotspots, ensuring their continuous provision of critical services like clean air, water and food security.

The session  addressed various viewpoints on biodiversity financing, commencing with a macro-level examination of policies concerning biodiversity finance. It also delved into public and private perspectives on financing biodiversity, encompassing risk assessment, impact evaluation and strategies to amplify investments in biodiversity.
