Clara Mottura Created an Event in Gender Equality - ISLANDS 2 years ago CSW67 Side Event: Achieving Digital Justice and Rights Through Inclusive Policy Making 7 MAR 2023 Register Permanent Mission of Fiji Gender equality in digitalisation entails structural and transformative changes that involve every aspect of digital governance and every actor in the digital ecosystem. It means ensuring that all voices and perspectives are heard and mainstreaming women’s human rights and gender equality in the design and implementation of national digital strategies is essential for an equitable and gender-responsive laws and policies. In line with the overall objective of accelerating the full and effective realisation of women’s human rights and gender equality in the context of digitalisation and innovation, APWLD, FWRM, UN Women APRO, ILO, together with select Members States, hold a side-event with following objectives: a. To discuss and interrogate the realities and the impact of 'digital transformation' on women in Asia and the Pacific; b. To take stock of the gendered impact of digitalisation on labour rights especially on women’s labour rights in Asia and the Pacific and to provide policy recommendations to address these emerging issues; c. To explore the various facets of digital gender divide and to provide concrete policy recommendations to address the gap; d. To provide concrete policy recommendations for a human rights-based and gender-responsive digital initiatives and policies that ensures safety and security of women and girls in virtual platforms and to address sexual and gendered cyber violence, harassment and abuse in an effective manner.
