From Commitments to Action towards Stockholm+50: Partnerships for the African Green Stimulus Programme

Join us at this virtual Side Event of the 8th Session of the African Regional Forum for Sustainable Development (ARFSD) is focusing on promoting sustainable circularity in Africa’s MSMEs and SMEs.The event will spotlight partnership building around two pillars of the African Green Stimulus Programme; Climate Action and Sustainable Food Systems. The discussions are led by recognized panelists of governments, financial institutions, businesses and international organisations.

The co-conveners are; Global Opportunities for Sustainable Development Goals (GO4SDGs), German Federal Ministry for the Environment Nature Conservation,  Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection (BMUV), United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), African Development Bank (AfDB).

The event contributes to the African preparation and roadmap toward the International Meeting “Stockholm+50: a healthy planet for the prosperity of all – our responsibility, our opportunity.” Stockholm+50 commemorates the 1972 UN Conference on the Environment, which brought (for the first time) the environment into the center stage for human well-being and development. The discussions of the Side Event contribute to the Stockholm+50 stakeholder deliberations under Leadership Dialogue 2: “Achieving a sustainable and inclusive recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.”
