The aim of this virtual event is to bring together the global ASGM community, from miner representatives and policy and technical experts to practitioners, governments, and donors in order to exchange knowledge and experiences, while ultimately spurring action toward transforming the sector’s practices globally. 

Over three days, sessions will explore key mechanisms to improve financial access for the ASGM sector; global experiences with creating responsible gold supply chains from ASGM operations; approaches to advance formalization; technologies for mercury-free gold production; addressing gender inequalities in the sector; mercury trade issues; and more.

The program features plenary and parallel sessions on April 26th and 27th while April 28th consists of two complementary sets of sessions with a regional focus, followed by a World Bank event on forest-smart mining. Explore the schedule for more details on the programming each day.
