At the ICCM5 conference in Bonn at the end of September a historic Global Framework on Chemicals and the Bonn declaration was adopted.

Thanks to the engagement and advocacy work of various womens organisations and gender experts:
- gender equality is now one principle of the new Global Framework on Chemicals;
- language on gender has been included in the Bonn declaration; and
- a resolution on "Mainstreaming a gender perspective and promoting gender equality and empowerment of all women and girls in chemicals and waste management“, including the development of a gender action plan for the new framework, was adopted.

As soon as the final documents are available, I will post them here.

Despite the difficult negotiations, we were able to achieve a more gender-responsive design of the framework - yay!

Best wishes
Anna
