Development Asia has a recent newsletter available discussing all manner of solutions to share on enhancing gender equality in honor of Women's Month and this year's IWD theme: “DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality.”

One key issue discussed is whether digital finance can be the answer to increasing access to credit for women-owned small and medium-sized entities. As we consider ways to engage and increase women's entrepreneurship in ISLANDS, digital financing--which reduces cost and increases accessibility--can be the technological solutions (such as digital banking, mobile money, mobile point-of-sale devices, online lending, and online marketplaces) to close expand women in chemical and waste management processes and businesses across ISLANDS countries.
