Alii everyone, this is Calvin from Palau. Thank you PacWastePlus and GEF islands for this opportunity to join the study tour in Australia. Our PacWastePlus project focuses on the design of end-of-life tire repurposing system. The plan is to upgrade our tire shredder to shred tires into smaller pieces and use them as construction materials or cover material for landfill disposal area. I know this tour will help us learn new ideas on how to improve our 3R initiatives.

We also have been implementing our CDL program since 2011, but it is limited only to beverage containers. We hope to expand our system to include non-beverage containers and I think this study tour will also help us gain knowledge and learn new ideas on how to improve our system.
