It promotes investment in projects and assets necessary for a rapid transition to a low carbon and climate resilient economy. The main work streams are green bond standards and certification, data and market analysis, policy and market development, communications and advocacy. Climate Bonds is a fast growing, dynamic NGO driven by a big mission. You will be working within an organisation that is leading the development of innovative international climate finance solutions. The Role To date, green finance capital flows have been principally directed at activities which can be considered ‘already green’. There has been significantly less investment into transitioning activities and assets that are associated with the highest carbon-emitting industries and businesses. However, to meet Paris Agreement goals and the EU net zero 2050 target, an economy-wide transition in which companies transition away from existing activities towards better alternatives is critical. The Climate Bonds Initiative is launching a strategic, multi-year Transition Programme, with an initial focus on driving industrial decarbonisation in the EU. The successful candidate for this position will have strong interpersonal skills, excellent strategic thinking capabilities, an ability to work in a diplomatic and collaborative manner with multiple stakeholders, and an enthusiasm for turning big ideas into action. You will also have excellent writing skills, initiative, attention to detail, and a proven track record in managing integrated, strategic programmes. Reporting to the Deputy CEO, the Transition Programme Manager will be responsible for the operational success of the programme, ensuring seamless team management and development, program delivery, and quality control and evaluation. In this newly established role, the Transition Programme Manager will coordinate across 4 core technical teams, communications team, training and events team, and supporting administrative teams. The Transition Programme Manager will also serve as the key external face of the Transition Programme in the EU, bringing a collaborative, multi-stakeholder approach to programme delivery. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with the Heads of Teams to develop and oversee the implementation of the Transition program Support a highly engaged, diverse and capable team to execute departmental plans/strategies and build great relationships with members and colleagues, and promote knowledge sharing Effectively communicate CBI's evolving thinking and position on transition finance to external audiences, particularly with respect to definitional frameworks, taxonomies, and the use of sustainable finance labels Identify opportunities to inform and shape public policy through the Policy team’s partnerships and impact Collaborate with the Head of Communications and Head of Training and Events on the development of related advocacy, marketing, thought leadership, and training activities Be the primary contact point for donor engagement, communicating effectively on progress, timelines, and be responsible for reporting and donor coordination Identifying and flagging any emerging challenges with delivering on project objectives and ensuring that adequate steps are taken to address any emerging risks Work closely with core operational teams: Finance, HR, and Programmes and Projects to ensure operational success of the project Develop and implement a Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning plan to drive impactful programme delivery Remain at the forefront of the emerging transition finance discussion in the EU and keep pace with the ongoing developments in taxonomies, regulations, as well as market and investor trends. Qualifications and Experience Essential At least 5 years of work experience in a related role Extensive knowledge of climate change and climate change solutions across a variety of sectors Knowledge of the EU agenda on sustainable and climate finance Minimum BA, Advanced degree preferred in energy, policy, climate, or another relevant field Strong project management skills managing complex, multifaceted projects resulting in measurable successes and program growth Ability to work as part of a team and to take a collaborative approach Ability to bring a positive outlook to working at CBI and energizing teams around the mission Strength in hiring, recruiting, managing, developing, coaching, and retaining individuals and teams, empowering them to elevate their levels of responsibility and performance Effective presentation style as well as strong speaking and written communication skills.
